Britten Sinfonia recording for Radio 3

Britten Sinfonia is one of Europe?s most dynamic chamber orchestras and has made a number of appearances at the Bury Festival. On Sunday 20th May, a small ensemble from the orchestra, led by oboist Nick Daniel, will play a programme that includes Mozart?s Oboe Quartet and a beautiful Colin Matthews arrangement of Schumann?s song ?Mondnacht? for cor anglais and strings. The focus of this concert is Memoria by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, chosen by the Royal Philharmonic Society and BBC Radio 3 to be part of its Encore series of concerts.

Tickets are £16/£13 (with £5 for under 22 year olds). The show starts approx 7.30pm.

This concert will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

There will be a Pre-Concert Talk at 6.30pm; Tom Hutchinson of the Royal Philharmonic Society will be in conversation with Cheryl Frances-Hoad about her work as a composer today.
